              ARMED FORCES (AMENDMENT) (NO. 3) REGULATIONS 1972 (LI 785). 

 

IN exercise of the powers conferred on the Commander-in-Chief by section 97 of the Armed Forces Act, 1962 (Act 105), and after consultation with the Armed Forces Council, this regulation is made this 27th day of September, 1972.

Regulation 1—Amendment of C.I. 12/70 of C.I. 12/70.

The Armed Forces Regulations, 1970 (C.I. 12) are hereby amended by inserting immediately after the words "Armament Signals/Radar" in article 205.41 (h) (iv) therein of the following new article—

"205.42—Special Qualification Pay—Qualified Flying/Helicopter Instructor- (QFIs/QHIs) and Qualified Gunery Instructor  (QGI),

(1) An officer who is qualified as a Flying Instructor or Helicopter Instructor or Gunnery Instructor shall be entitled to special qualification pay at the rate prescribed for his rank and status in Table 'C' to article 205.41 as applicable:

(a) if he is on the strength of a designate flying unit and fills an appointment requiring active and continuous instructional duties;

(b) if he maintains his flying proficiency in accordance with the standards prescribe by the Chief of Defence Staff.

(2) An officer who is qualified as Flying Instructor or Helicopter Instructor or Gunnery Instructor shall in addition to benefits received under subsection (1) of this article be entitled to the Air Crew Special Qualification Pay.

(3) An officer who ceases to be employed as an instructor shall not be entitled to receive the " Special Qualification Pay"."
