             CIVIL SERVICE (APPOINTMENTS) REGULATION, 1972 (LI 733).

 

IN exercise of the powers conferred on the National Redemption Council by section 43 of the Civil Service Act, 1960 (C.A. 5), and acting in consultation with the Public Services Commission, this Regulation is made this 15th day of February, 1972.

Regulation 1—Appointing Authorities.

(1) The appointing authority for a Category A post shall be the National Redemption Council after consultation with the Public Services Commission.

(2) The appointing authority for a Category B post shall be the National Redemption Council acting in accordance with the advice of the Public Services Commission.

(3) The appointing authority for a Category C post shall be the Public Services Commission.

(4) The appointing authority for a Category D post in one of the Classes shall be the Head of the Class.

(5) The appointing authority for any other Category D post shall be the Head of Department.

(6) Subject to regulation 18 of the Civil Service (Interim) Regulations, 1960 (L.I. 47), a Head of Department may further delegate his powers of appointment as regards Category D posts to civil servants in his Department.

(7) For the purposes of this Regulation, the Head of the Class shall be deemed to be the Head of Department.

Regulation 2—Commencement.

This Regulation shall be deemed to have come into force on the 13th day of January, 1972.
