                   ARMED FORCES REVOLUTIONARY COUNCIL DECREE

 

COURTS (DELIVERY OF JUDGMENTS) DECREE, 1979 (AFRCD 21)

 

BE IT ENACTED by the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council as follows:—

 

Chief Justice to Suspend Payment of Salary.

 

Where any Judge or Magistrate fails to comply with the provisions of—

(a) paragraph 32A of the Court of Appeal Rules, 1962 (L.I. 218); or

(b) paragraph 2A of the High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 1954 (L.N. 140A); or

(c) paragraph 1 of the District  Court Rules, 1977 (L.I. 1127),

(relating to the time limit for the delivery of judgment) and the Chief Justice is satisfied that such failure is unjustified the Chief Justice may  order the suspension of the salary of the Judge or Magistrate until such time that the Judge or Magistrate complies with the said provisions.

Made this 31st day of August, 1979.
