FORESTS ORDINANCE 1927 THE FORESTS (AFRAM BUKUNAW SHELTERBELT FOREST RESERVE) ORDER, 1958 (LN 294).              

 

WHEREAS by notice issued under the provisions of sub-section (i) of section 5 of the Forests Ordinance and published in the Gazette No. 64 dated 18th September, 1954, the Governor stated his intention of constituting as a Forest Reserve the area of land the situation and limits of which were specified in the said notice, and by the same notice appointed PETER MYLES RILEY, Esq., to be Reserve Settlement Commissioner.

AND WHEREAS in pursuance of the duties imposed upon and powers vested in him by section 9 of the Ordinance PETER MYLES RILEY, Reserve Settlement Commissioner proceeded to hold an enquiry into the limits of the aforesaid area of land and into the existence, nature and extent of the rights affecting the land or over the land which have been claimed or brought to his notice.

AND WHEREAS the Reserve Settlement Commissioner has completed his enquiry and has delivered his judgment in accordance with section 15 of the Ordinance:

Cap. 157.

NOW THEREFORE in exercise of the powers conferred upon the Governor-General by section 17 of the Forests Ordinance the following Order is hereby made.

Order 1—Title.

This Order may be cited as the Forests (Afram Bukunaw Shelterbelt Forest Reserve) Order, 1958.

Order 2—First Schedule.

The area of land the situation and limits of which are specified in the First Schedule to this Order is hereby constituted a Forest Reserve under the name of Afram Bukunaw Shelterbelt Forest Reserve.

Order 3—Second Schedule.

The Afram Bukunaw Shelterbelt Forest Reserve is hereby declared to be affected by the rights particularised in the Second Schedule to this Order.

SCHEDULES

FIRST SCHEDULE

DESCRIPTION OF THE AREA OF THE AFRAM BUKUNAW SHELTERBELT FOREST RESERVE

Commencing at B.P.1, at a point 22 chains along the Bukunaw—Apimso motor road in a north-easterly direction from the bridge over the Bukunaw River, thence following the said motor road in a northerly direction for 204 chains through B.P.s 2, 3, 4 and 5 to B.P. 6; thence following a cut line on a bearing of 128º 30’ for a distance of  185.2 chains through B.P.s 7,8,9,10 and 11 to B.P. 12; thence a cut line on a bearing of 207º 15’ for a distance of 149 chains through B.Ps 13,14 and 15 to B.P 16 thence a cut line on a bearing of 253º 30’ for a distance of 44 chains to B.P. 17; thence a cut line on a bearing of 325º for a distance of 90 chains through B.P.s 18 and 19 to B.P. 1 the point of commencement.

All bearings are approximate and refer to True North.

All distances are more or less.

The letters B.P. appearing in this Schedule stand for " Boundary Pillar ".

7. Permits to fell for personal use the following trees: Bano, Obletcho, Kussia, Osese, Tipoku, Wawa, Odum, Tweapia Sokogua, Palm trees,     Emeri.  On Free permit at discretion of the Forestry Department and provided  no excessive felling.        do.      

8. Right to collect Sand Clay and Stones.  On Free Permit         do.
