              FORESTS ORDINANCE, 1927 THE FORESTS (PRA-ANUM RESERVE VARIATION OF BOUNDARIES) ORDER, 1958 (LN 248).

 

Order No. 73 of 1939. Cap. 157.

WHEREAS by the Forests (Pra-Anum Reserve) Order, 1939 the area of land the situation and limits of which were specified therein were constituted a Forest Reserve under the terms of section 17 of the Forests Ordinance:

AND WHEREAS in the opinion of the Governor-General, there is no longer any need to maintain certain portions of the said land as Forest Reserve:

Cap. 157.

NOW THEREFORE, pursuant to the terms of section 20 of the aforesaid Ordinance, I hereby order as follows:—

Order 1—Title.

This Order may be cited as the Forests (Pra-Anum Reserve Variation of Boundaries) Order, 1958.

Order 2—

The areas of land, the situation and limits of which are described in the Schedule hereto shall cease to be portions of Pra-Anum Forest Reserve.

SCHEDULE

Description of Areas to be excluded

AMENTIA EXCLUSION

All that area of land lying within the boundary following, that is to say a boundary commencing at F.R.B.P.A. situated on the true right bank of the River Pra on the West side of the Ofuasi-Amentia Motor Road, thence following the true right bank of the River Pra upstream for 57.74 chains to F.R.B.P.D.; thence in a Northerly direction for 33.91 chains to V.L.16 situated on the North side of a road known as Camp Road, 28.66 chains along this road from its junction with the Ofuasi-Amentia road; thence in a general North-easterly direction following Camp Road for 75.60 chains to V.L.17; thence on a bearing of 329º for 16.40 chains to V.L. 18; thence on a bearing of 241º for 61.50 chains to V.L. 19; situated on the true right bank of the Afuanten Stream; thence in a Northerly direction following the Afuanten Stream for 69.86 chains to V.L. 20; thence on a bearing of 271º for 3.20 chains; thence on a bearing of 14º for 7.23 chains; thence on a bearing of 319º for 4.25 chains; thence on a bearing of 239º for 2.93 chains; thence on a bearing of 187º for 8.63 chains to V.L. 21; thence on a bearing of 271º for 40.33 chains; thence on a bearing of 184º for 3.74 chains; thence on a bearing of 274º for 5.10 chains; thence on a bearing of 2º for 1.80 chains; thence on a bearing of 269º for 18.55 chains to V.L. 22; thence on a bearing of 210º for 12.97 chains to V.L. 23, situated on the North side of the Amentia-Banka road 5.56 chains South-west of the junction of this road and the road to Muronem village; thence in a Southerly direction following the Adokomesua Stream for 47.14 chains to V.L. 24; thence on a bearing of 90º for 47.20 chains to V.L. 25 situated on the West side of the Ofuasi-Amentia road to the South of Amentia village; thence in a South-easterly direction following the road for 43.46 chains to V.L. 26; thence on a bearing of 254º for 4.46 chains; thence on a bearing of 165º for 3.63 chains; thence on a bearing of 91º for 4.30 chains to rejoin the Ofuasi-Amentia road; thence in a Southerly direction following the road for 21.66 chains to V.L. 27; thence on a bearing of 285º for 7.00 chains; thence on a bearing of 204º for 5.90 chains; thence in an Easterly direction for 9.36 chains to rejoin the Ofuasi-Amentia road; thence in a Southerly direction following the road for 15.10 chains to pillar F.R.B.P.A., the point of commencement.

MURONEM EXCLUSION

All that area of land lying within the boundary following, that is to say a boundary commencing at F.R.B.P.C., situated on the true left bank of the Asumamen Stream at its confluence with the Anum River; thence in a Southerly direction following the true left bank of the Anum River for 98.19 chains to F.R.B.P.B.; thence in a North-easterly direction a cut line for 72.52 chains to V.L. 1; thence in an Easterly direction for 24.27 chains to V.L. 2; thence on a bearing of 9º for 12.38 chains; thence on a bearing of 280º for 24.79 chains; thence on a bearing of 50º for 7.80 chains to V.L. 3; thence on a bearing of 347º for 9.75 chains; thence in an Easterly direction for 13.56 chains; thence in a Northerly direction for 7.73 chains; thence in a Westerly direction for 18.06 chains; thence on a bearing of 347º for 7.40 chains; thence in a North-easterly direction for 16.61 chains; thence on a bearing of 346º for 6.10 chains; thence in a South-westerly direction for 15.49 chains; thence on a bearing of 335º for 26.80 chains to V.L. 4, situated on the left bank of the Asumamen Stream; thence in a South-westerly direction following the Asumamen Stream for 24.03 chains to V.L. 5; thence in a general North-westerly direction for 29.92 chains; thence in a Westerly direction for 12.88 chains; thence in a general South-westerly direction for 48.98 chains to V.L. 6, situated on the left bank of the Asumamen Stream; thence in a South-westerly direction following the Asumamen Stream for 36.32 chains to V.L. 7; thence in a South-westerly direction for 2.65 chains; thence in a South-easterly direction for 9.11 chains to V.L. 8, situated on the left bank of the Asumamen Stream; thence in a Southerly direction following the Asumamen Stream for 27.40 chains to F.R.B.P.C., the point of commencement.

BANKA EXCLUSION

All that area of land lying within the boundary following that is to say a boundary commencing at F.R.B.P. 18A, situated 281.06 chains East of the Anum River along the Reserve boundary, and about 50 chains West of Banka village along the Reserve boundary; thence in a South-easterly direction for 46.85 chains to V.L. 9; thence in a North-easterly direction for 27.37 chains to V.L. 10; thence in an East-south-easterly direction for 43.63 chains to V.L. 11; thence in an East-north-easterly direction for 74.89 chains to V.L. 12; thence in a North-easterly direction for 52.23 chains to V.L. 13; thence in a North-westerly direction for 37.11 chains to F.R.B.P. 13A, situated on the Reserve boundary; thence in a South-westerly then Westerly direction following the Reserve boundary, which is the old Jadam-Kuntanasi hammock road, for 198.14 chains to F.R.B.P. 18A, the point of commencement.

OTUOKWAI EXCLUSION

All that area of land lying within the boundary following, that is to say a boundary commencing at F.R.B.P. 10A, situated 367.77 chains West of the Pra River and about 15 chains South-west of Otuokwai village along the old Jadam-Kutanasi hammock road; thence in an Easterly direction for 27.14 chains to V.L. 4; thence in a Northerly direction for 11.50 chains to F.R.B.P. 9a, situated on the aforesaid hammock road; thence in a South-westerly direction following the aforesaid hammock road for 28.03 chains, through Otuokwai village to F.R.B.P. 10A, the point of commencement.

KOKOBIN EXCLUSION

All that area of land lying within the boundary following that is to say a boundary commencing at F.R.B.P. 4A, situated 144.99 chains West of the Pra River and about 20 chains North-west of Kokobin village along the old Jadam-Kuntanasi hammock road; thence in a general Southerly direction for 24.38 chains to V.L. 15; thence in an Easterly direction for 36.85 chains to F.R.B.P. 3A, situated on the aforesaid hammock road; thence in a North-westerly direction following the aforesaid hammock road for 36.70 chains through Kokobin village, to F.R.B.P. 4A, the point of commencement.

All bearing are approximate and refer to True North.

All distances are more or less.

The letters F.R.B.P. and V.L. followed by a letter or a number appearing in this schedule stand for Forest Reserve Boundary Pillar and Village Land and refer to a pillar bearing that letter or number.
