WHEREAS by notice issued under the
provisions of subsection (1) of
section 5 of the Forests Ordinance
and published in the Gazette No.
68 of 31st July 1937 the Governor
stated his intention of
constituting as a Forest Reserve
the Akim-Kotoku portion of the
Birim Forest Reserve, the
situation and limits of which were
specified in the said notice; and
by the same notice the Governor
appointed H. C. Ellershaw, Esq.,
to be Reserve Settlement
Commissioner:
AND WHEREAS by a notice published
in the Gazette No. 4 of January
12th 1952 the Governor appointed
A. P. Pullen, Esq., to be Reserve
Settlement Commissioner in place
of H. C. Ellershaw, Esq.:
AND WHEREAS by a notice published
in Gazette No. 18 of 5th March
1955 the Governor appointed PETER
MYLES RILEY ESQ., to be Reserve
Settlement Commissioner in place
of A. P. PULLEN ESQ.:
AND WHEREAS in pursuance of the
duties imposed upon and powers
vested in him by the Ordinance the
said PETER MYLES RILEY proceeded
to hold an enquiry into the limits
of the aforesaid area of land and
into the existence, nature and
extent of the rights affecting the
land or over the land which have
been claimed or brought to his
notice:

AND WHEREAS the said PETER MYLES
RILEY has completed his enquiry
and has in accordance with section
15 of the Ordinance delivered his
judgment thereupon:
NOW THEREFORE in exercise of the
powers conferred upon the Governor
by section 17 of the Forests
Ordinance the following Order is
hereby made.
Order 1—Title.
This Order may be cited as the
Forests (Birim Forest Reserve,
Akim-Kotoku portion) Order 1957.
Order 2—First Schedule.
The area of land the situation and
limits of which are specified in
the First Schedule to this Order
is hereby constituted a Forest
Reserve under the name of the
Birim Forest Reserve, Akim-Kotoku
portion.
Order 3—Second and Third
Schedules.
The Birim Forest Reserve,
Akim-Kotoku portion, is hereby
declared to be affected by the
rights particularised in the
Second and Third Schedules to this
Order.
