                       THE SEVEN HUNDRED AND FIRST  ACT

        OF THE PARLIAMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA

                                                                           ENTITLED

THE GHANA NATIONAL COMMISSION ON CHILDREN (REPEAL) ACT, 2006

AN ACT to repeal the Ghana National Commission on Children Decree 1979, (AFRCD 66) and to provide for related matters.

ENACTED by the President and Parliament Repeal of AFRCD 66

1. (1) The Ghana National Commission on Children Decree, 1979 (AFRCD 66) is repealed by this Act.

(2) The Ghana National Commission on Children is now converted to a Department of the Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs.

Transitional and savings provisions

2. (1) Despite the repeal of AFRCD 66, the assets and liabilities in respect of the properties vested in the Ghana National Commission on Children under the Ghana National Commission on Children Decree, 1979, (AFRCD 66) immediately before the repeal of the Decree and the persons employed by the Commission shall be transferred to the Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs established under the authority of the Civil Service Law, 1993 (PNDCL 327).

(2) Despite the repeal of AFRCD 66, the notices, orders, directions, ap­pointments or any other act lawfully made or done under the repealed enact­ment immediately before the commencement of this Act shall be considered to have been made or done under this Act and shall continue to have effect until reviewed, cancelled or terminated.
