INSURANCE CERTIFICATE) DECREE,
1979 (AFRCD 35)
ARRANGEMENT OF SECTIONS
Section
1. Issue and misuse of Duplicate
Motor Insurance Certificates.
2. Validation of Penalties already
Collected.
BE IT ENACTED by the Armed Forces
Revolutionary Council as follows:—
Section 1—Issue and Misuse of
Duplicate Motor Insurance
Certificates.
Any person who:—
(a) obtains any duplicate
certificate of insurance in
respect of any motor vehicle
without the permission of the
Ministry responsible for Fuel; or
(b) uses or attempts to use any
duplicate certificate of insurance
issued in respect of any motor
vehicle for the purpose of
procuring at any time more than
the prescribed quantity of petrol
to which he is otherwise entitled
in respect of such vehicle in
accordance with the restrictions
imposed on the sale of petrol by
the Ministry responsible for Fuel
and Power,
shall be liable to pay to the
Government a penalty of ¢500.00.
Section 2—Validation of Penalties
Already Collected.
Any money collected by the
Government before the coming into
force of this Decree from any
person who has done any such act
as is referred to in section 1 of
this Decree shall be deemed to be
a penalty imposed under that
section in respect of that act and
lawfully collected.
