In exercise of the powers
conferred on the Provisional
National Defence Council Secretary
responsible for the Interior after
consultation with the
Inspector-General of Police, by
section 20 (3) of the Police Force
Act, 1970 (Act 350) these
Regulations are hereby made this
15th day of December, 1986.
The Police Force (Disciplinary
Proceedings) Regulations, 1974 (L.I.
993) is hereby amended by the
substitution for sub-regulation
(1) of regulation 23 thereof of
the following sub-regulation —
"23. Appeals.
(1) Where a penalty is imposed on
a police officer of the rank of
Inspector or above he may appeal
to the Police Council against the
decision but the penalty shall
take effect not withstanding the
pendency of the appeal".
