POSTS AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS (TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH CHARGES) REGULATIONS, 1975 (LI 1057).

 

IN exercise of the powers conferred on the Board by sections 72 and 93 of the Posts and Telecommunications Corporation Decree, 1975 (N.R.C.D. 311) and with the approval of the Commissioner responsible for Transport and Communications, these Regulations are made this 29th day of October, 1975.

Regulation 1—Regulation 9 (2) of Telephone Regulations (Cap. 215) Amended.

There is hereby substituted for sub-regulation (2) of regulation 9 of the Telephone Regulations (appearing on page 528 of Vol. IX of the Laws of Ghana) the following:—

"(2) There shall be charged and paid on demand by the subscriber the reconnection fee prescribed in Table E of the First Schedule to these Regulations in respect of the restoration by the Corporation of any telephone service which has been suspended wholly or in part or disconnected owing to default or contravention of these Regulations by a subscriber."

Regulation 2—Telephone Fees.

There shall be charged in respect of the service specified in the First Schedule to these Regulations the fees specified respectively in relation thereto in that Schedule and accordingly the provisions of the said Schedule are hereby substituted for the Schedule to the Telephone Regulations (appearing on page 528 of Vol. IX of the Laws of Ghana).

Regulation 3—Telegraph Charges.

(1) There shall be charged in respect of inland telegrams and registration of telegraphic addresses the fees specified respectively in relation thereto in the Second Schedule to these Regulations, and regulations 3, 5 and 32 of the Telegraphs Regulations (appearing on page 507 of Vol. IX of the Laws of Ghana) shall be deemed to have been amended accordingly.

(2) There is hereby substituted for the words "abbreviated address" or "abbreviated addresses" wherever they occur in the Telegraphs Regulations, the words "telegraphic address" or telegraphic addresses".

Regulation 4—Charges for Rentals.

There shall be charged  in respect of rentals by the Corporation to any person of telegraphic and telex apparatus specified in the first column of the Third Schedule to these Regulations the annual fees specified respectively in relation thereto in the second column of that Schedule.

Regulation 5—Interpretation.

In these Regulations:

"Corporation" means the Posts and Telecommunications Corporation established by the Posts and Telecommunications Decree, 1975 (N.R.C.D. 311).

Regulation 6—Revocations.

The following enactments are hereby revoked:—

Regulation 18 (2) of the Telegraph Regulations (page 528 of Vol. IX of the Laws of Ghana).

The Telegraph (Amendment) Regulations, 1957 (L.N. 160).

Regulation 3 of the Telephone (Amendment) Regulations, 1957 (L.N. 161).

The Telecommunication Regulations, 1966 (L.I. 515).

The Telecommunications (Amendment) Regulation, 1971 (L.I. 698).

Regulation 7—Commencement.

These Regulations shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of July, 1975.
