PROHIBITION OF SALE OF BEER AND
SPIRITS (PRIVATE HOUSES) DECREE,
1979 (AFRCD 33)
ARRANGEMENT OF SECTIONS
Section
1. Sale of Beer, Stout, Spirits
Etc. in Private Houses Prohibited.
2. Distributors of Beer, Stout,
Etc. not to Operate Drinking Bars.

4. Interpretation.
BE IT ENACTED by the Armed Forces
Revolutionary Council as follows:—
Section 1—Sale of Beer, Stout,
Spirits Etc. in Private Houses
Prohibited.
(1) No beer, stout, wine or spirit
shall be sold on the premises of
any private house.
(2) Notwithstanding any enactment
to the contrary, any licence
granted to any person under the
Liquor Licensing Act, 1970 (Act
331), in respect of the sale of
beer, stout, wine or spirits on
any premises specified in
subsection (1) of this section
shall cease to have effect.
Section 2—Distributors of Beer,
Stout, Etc. not to Operate
Drinking Bars.
(1) No person who operates any bar
licensed under the provisions of
the Liquor Licensing Act, 1970
(Act 331) shall engage in the
distribution of beer, stout, wine
or spirits.
(2) No person engaged in the
distribution of beer, stout, wine
or spirits shall use his premises
or any part thereof as a bar and
any licence granted under the
Liquor Licensing Act 1970 (Act
331) in respect of such premises
or part thereof for use as a bar
shall cease to have effect.
Section 3—Offences.
Any person who contravenes any of
the provisions of this Decree
shall be guilty of an offence and
liable on summary conviction to
imprisonment for a term not less
than six months or more than five
years without the option of a fine
and in addition any beer, stout,
wine or spirits in respect of
which the offence was committed
shall be forfeited to the State.
Section 4—Interpretation.
In this Decree, the words bar,
beer, wine and spirits shall have
the meanings assigned respectively
to them in the Liquor Licensing
Act, 1970 (Act 331).
