1.
Local Government electoral area
The electoral areas specified in
the third column of the First
Schedule to the Instrument
establishing a District Assembly
shall be the local government
electoral area for the purposes of
District Assembly elections.
2.
One member for each electoral area
Each electoral area shall be
represented by one member in a
District Assembly.
3. Agents of candidate
(1) For the purposes of a local
government election a candidate
may appoint one agent to attend at
the polling station to witness the
poll and the counting of votes.
(2) A candidate may appoint not
more than two agents to attend at
the electoral area centre for
purposes of collating the votes
from the polling stations.
4.
Submission of member's name to the
Secretary of the Assembly
After a candidate has been elected
a member of a District Assembly,
the Commission shall inform the
secretary of that Assembly, of the
name of the candidate elected.
In these Regulations, unless the
context otherwise requires,
"Commission" means the Electoral
Commission established by article
43 of the Constitution;
"District Assembly" includes a
Municipal or Metropolitan
Assembly.
