ARRANGEMENT OF SECTIONS
Section
1. Date of Presidential and
Parliamentary Elections.
2. Voting.
3. Notification of Nomination Day.
IN exercise of the powers
conferred on the Electoral
Commission by Article 51 of the
Constitution this Instrument is
made this 12th day of June, 1996.
Section 1—Date of Presidential and
Parliamentary Elections.
The elections to the Office of
President and for membership of
Parliament shall be conducted by
the Electoral Commission on
Saturday, 7th December 1996.
Section 2—Voting.
Voting shall take place throughout
the country at the prescribed
polling stations on the date
specified in this Instrument.
Section 3—Notification of
Nomination Day.
The Electoral Commission shall by
notification published in the
Gazette, announcement on the
national radio and television and
publication through such other
medium of mass communication as it
considers appropriate, notify the
public of the day appointed for
the nomination of candidates for
the elections.
