Section
1. Repeal of Acts 109 and 168.
2. Restoration of Customary Rules
of Land Tenancy.

IN pursuance of the Proclamation
entitled "Proclamation for the
Constitution of a National
Liberation Council for the
Administration of Ghana and for
other matters connected therewith"
published in Gazette No. 11 of
28th February, 1966, this Decree
is hereby made:—
Section 1—Repeal of Acts 109 and
168.
The following enactments are
hereby repealed:—
(a) The Rents (Stabilization) Act,
1962 (Act 109); and
(b) The Rents (Stabilization)
(Amendment) Act, 1963 (Act 168).
Section 2—Restoration of Customary
Rules of Land Tenancy.
Any rule or other requirement of
customary law relating to the
tenancy of land which was revoked,
amended or in any way affected by
or under the Acts repealed by
paragraph 1 of this Decree, shall,
on and after the coming into force
of this Decree, have and be given
the same effect as it had and was
given under customary law
immediately before the coming into
force of the said repealed Acts:
Provided that nothing in this
Decree shall affect or be deemed
to affect the previous operation
of the said repealed acts or any
rights accruing to, or liabilities
(including obligations) incurred
by any person by or under the said
repealed Acts before the coming
into force of this Decree.
Section 3—L.I. 495 Revived
Notwithstanding the repeal of the
enactments referred to in
paragraph 1 of this Decree the
Timber Royalties Regulations, 1965
(LI 495) shall continue in force
as if the said enactments had not
been repealed. [As inserted by the
