ROAD TRAFFIC OFFENCES (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1994 (LI 1584).

 

 

IN exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister responsible for Transport and Communications by section 33 of the Road Traffic Ordinance (No.55) these Regulations are made this 26th day of January, 1994.

Regulation 1—L.I. 952 Amended.

The Road Traffic Offences Regulations, 1974 (L.I. 952) as amended are further amended by the substitution for regulation  18A of the following—

"18A. Prohibition of heavy  truck from plying roads at specified times.

(1)  No person shall drive or cause to be driven any truck the weight of which exceeds three tons between the hours of  6 p.m. and 6 a.m. unless the person in control of the truck has obtained a permit in writing from the Minister for Interior or from an officer authorised by him for the purpose.

(2) For the removal of doubt, the word "truck" as used in this regulation does not include an omnibus or passenger lorry as defined in regulation 45 of these Regulations.

(3) There shall be paid for a permit issued under paragraph (1) a fee of ˘10,000.”

Regulation 2—Revocation.

The Road Traffic Offences (Amendment) Regulations, 1977 (L.I. 1124) are hereby revoked.
