IN exercise of the powers
conferred on the Commissioner
responsible for Transport by
section 33 of the Road Traffic
Ordinance, 1952 (No. 55), these
Regulations are made this 5th day
of April, 1973.
Regulation 1—Delinquent Fee in
Respect of Vehicles not Submitted
for Test by 7th April, 1973.
Where the owner of a motor vehicle
has failed by the 7th day of
April, 1973 to submit his vehicle
for a roadworthiness test as
required by the Principal
Regulations, he shall, in addition
to the fee payable under
regulation 1 (3) of the Principal
Regulations, be liable to pay a
delinquent fee equal to the amount
payable under regulation 1 (3) of
the Principal Regulations in
respect of that vehicle.
Regulation 2—Delinquent Fee in
Respect of Vehicles not
Re-submitted for Test by the due
Date.
When the owner of a motor vehicle
who has obtained a certificate of
roadworthiness under regulation 3
of the Principal Regulations fails
to re-submit his vehicle for
testing before the expiry of that
certificate, he shall, in addition
to the fee payable under
regulation 1 (3) of the Principal
Regulations, be liable to pay a
delinquent fee of ¢3.00.
Regulation 3—Exemption from
Delinquent Fees.
Notwithstanding regulations 1 and
2, where the owner of a motor
vehicle satisfies the Licensing
Authority that he was unable to
obtain or renew a certificate of
roadworthiness by the due date
owing to—
(a) his absence from Ghana; or
(b) any other reasonable cause
shown to the satisfaction of the
Licensing Authority,
he shall be exempted from the
payment of a delinquent fee.
Regulation 4—Interpretation.
In these Regulations, the words
“the Principal Regulations” mean
the Road Traffic (Roadworthiness)
Regulations, 1972 (L.I. 780).
Regulation 5—Commencement.
These Regulations shall come into
force on the 9th day of April,
1973.
