ACT OF THE PARLIAMENT OF THE
REPUBLIC OF GHANA
ENTITLED
THE STATUTE LAW REVISION ACT, 1971.
AN ACT to amend certain
enactments.
DATE OF ASSENT: 28th August, 1971.
BE IT ENACTED by the President and
the National Assembly in this
present Parliament assembled as
follows:—
Section 1—Enactments Amended.
(1) The enactments specified in
the first column of the Schedule
of this Act are hereby amended in
the manner indicated in the second
column of that Schedule.
(2) The amendments specified in
paragraphs 1, 3, 4 and 5 of the
said Schedule shall be deemed to
have come into force at the same
time as the commencement of the
enactments to which they
respectively relate.
SCHEDULE
1. Criminal Code, 1960 (Act
29). In section 273
as inserted by the Criminal Code
(Amendment) Decree, 1969 (NLCD.
398), for "demeanour" substitute
"misdemeanour".
2. State Secrets Act, 1962 (Act
101). In section 9 (1) and 9
(2), for the words "seventy-two
hours" substitute "twenty-four
hours" in both places.
3. Criminal Code (Amendment)
In paragraph 19
and in the marginal note thereof,
for the words "section 297"
substitute "section 296".
Decree, 1969 (NLCD.
398).
4. Banking Act, 1970 (Act
339). In section
12 (4), for the word "movable"
substitute "immovable".
5. Centre for Civic Education Act,
1970 (Act 353). In
section 9 (9), for the words
"subsection (2) (c) of section 6",
substitute "subsection (2) (b) of
section 6".
For subsection (1) of section 10
substitute the following:—
"10. Executive Committee.
(1) There shall be a committee of
the Board to be known as the
Executive Committee which shall
comprise the Executive Director
and not more than six other
trustees elected by the
Board."
6. State Housing Corporation (Ejectment)
Act, 1970 (Act 322).
In section 5 (1) (d) delete the
words "in addition to any of the
above cases, or ".
In section 5 (1) substitute for
paragraph (e) the following new
paragraph:—
"(c) in addition to any of the
foregoing, by affixing a copy of
it in some conspicuous part of the
premises in respect of which the
notice is given under section 1 of
this Act."
