                                                                THE SIX HUNDRED AND NINETY-THIRD

ACT OF THE PARLIAMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA

                                                ENTITLED

THE NATIONAL COUNCIL ON WOMEN AND DEVELOPMENT (REPEAL) ACT, 2005

AN ACT to repeal the National Council on Women and Development Decree 1975, (N.R.C.D. 322) and to provide for related matters.

ENACTED by the President and Parliament:

Repeal of NRCD 322

1. (1) The National Council on Women and Development Decree, 1975 (N.R.CD. 322) is repealed by this Act.

(2) The National Council on Women and Development shall be a decentralised department of the Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs.

(3) The designation of the head of the department shall be Director in conformity with what pertains in the Civil Service.

Transitional and savings provisions

2. (1) Despite the repeal of N.R.C.D. 322, the assets and liabilities in respect of the properties vested in the National Council on Women and Development under the National Council on Women and Development Decree, 1975, (N.R.CD. 322) immediately before the repeal of the Decree and the persons employed by the Commission shall be transferred to the Ministry of Women and Children's Affairs established under the authority of the Civil Service Law, 1993 (PNDCL 327).

 

(2) Despite the repeal of NRCD 322, the notices, orders, directions, appointments or any other act lawfully made or done under the repealed enactment immediately before the commencement of this Act shall be considered to have been made or done under this Act and shall continue to have effect until reviewed, cancelled or terminated.
