IN exercise of the powers
conferred on the Chairman of the
National Redemption Council by
section 11 of the Wild Animals
Preservation Act, 1961 (Act 43),
these Regulations are made this
19th day of June, 1975.
Regulation 1—Establishment of
Reserves.
There are hereby established
Reserves to be known as the
Bomfobiri Wildlife Sanctuary, the
Kalakpa Game Production Reserve
and the Gbele Game Production
Reserve, and accordingly,
immediately after paragraph (g) of
regulation 1 of the Wildlife
Reserves Regulations, 1971 (L.I.
710) there is hereby inserted the
following:
"(h) Bomfobiri Wildlife Sanctuary;
(i) Kalakpa Game Production
Reserve;
(j) Gbele Game Production
Reserve.
Regulation 2—Boundary
Descriptions.
Immediately after the particulars
relating to the Bia National Park
in the Schedule to the Wildlife
Reserves Regulations, 1971 (L.I.
710) as amended by the Wildlife
Reserves (Amendment) Regulations,
1974 (L.I. 881), there is hereby
inserted the following: —
BOMFOBIRI WILDLIFE SANCTUARY
BOUNDARY DESCRIPTION
The Bomfobiri Wildlife Sanctuary
lies some 7 miles north-east of
Kumawu and to the south-east of
the Kumawu-Drobonso road in the
Ashanti Region. It covers an area
of approximately 20.5 square
miles. Description of the boundary
is as follows: —
Commencing from Boumfum Forest
Reserve Boundary Pillar 53 (BP.
53) thence on a bearing of 0
degree for a distance of 4,950
feet to pillar 57 (BP. 57); thence
on a bearing of 320 degrees for a
distance of 2,486 feet to pillar
A; thence on a bearing of 360
degrees for a distance of 523 feet
to pillar B; thence on a bearing
of 315 degrees for a distance of
5,501 feet to pillar C; thence on
a bearing of 270 degrees for a
distance of 280 feet to pillar D
on the Kumawu-Drobonso lorry road.
Thence following the said lorry
road in a North-westward direction
for 1,722 feet to the Ongwam
River. Thence following the same
road in a North-westerly direction
for approximately 42,900 feet to
Boundary Pillar 130 (BP. 130).
Thence following the Forest
Reserve Boundary in a generally
southerly direction for
approximately 23,100 feet to
pillar 146 (BP. 146) on the River
Ongwam. Thence on a bearing of 197
degrees for a distance of 14,850
feet to the common junction of the
boundaries of compartments 69, 70,
78 and 32.
Thence following the southern
boundary of compartment 32 for
8,250 feet to meet the Game
Sanctuary boundary at Aduhensu.
Thence following the Game
Sanctuary boundary in a westward
direction for 9,900 feet to
Boundary Pillar 53 (BP. 53), the
point of commencement.
All bearings refer to true north.
All distances are more or less.
KALAKPA GAME PRODUCTION RESERVE
BOUNDARY DESCRIPTION
Kalakpa Game Production Reserve
lies between Latitudes 6° 15` and
6° 38' North and Longitudes 0° 15'
and 0° 35' East in the Ho district
of Volta Region.
The boundary commences at Mile
Post 14 on the Ho Ahunda road on a
bearing of 140° 15' for a distance
of 619 feet to a pillar marked A;
thence on a bearing of 189° for a
distance of 42,879 feet to a
pillar marked B; thence on a
bearing of 270° for a distance of
41,847 feet to pillar C; thence on
a bearing of 288° for a distance
of 19,800 feet to a pillar marked
D; situated on Aiwa Stream; thence
following Aiwa up-stream for a
distance of 12,500 feet to pillar
E, thence on a bearing of 322° for
a distance of 1,900 feet to pillar
F; thence on a bearing of 12° for
a distance of 36,600 feet to
pillar G; thence on a bearing of
74° for a distance of 30,798 feet
to pillar H; thence on a bearing
of 107° for a distance of 32,959
feet to pillar I; thence following
the Ho-Ahunda road for a distance
of 7,859 feet to the point of
commencement, i.e. Mile Post 14.

GBELE GAME PRODUCTION RESERVE
BOUNDARY DESCRIPTION
The Gbele Game Production Reserve
lies between Latitudes 10° 22' and
10° 44' North and Longitudes 2°
03' and 2° 17' West in the Upper
Region of Ghana.
The boundary commences from a
tie-line on a bearing of 326° 30'
from the North-eastern corner of
Kulpawn Tributaries Forest Reserve
for a distance of 21,000 feet to
the Kojokperi-Walembele main road;
thence following a cut line on a
bearing of 0° for a distance of
3,300 feet; thence on a bearing of
293° 0' for 20,000 feet; thence on
a bearing of 328° for 64,000 feet
to the Kulpawn River, and
following the Kulpawn River
up-stream for 8,000 feet to the
confluence of Kulpawn River and
the first tributary north of the
previous leg. Thence on a bearing
of 71° 30' for a distance of
28,000 feet to the Dasima-Gbele
main road; thence on a bearing of
63° 30' for a distance of 12,000
feet on the Dasima Jijen
foot-path, thence on a bearing of
16° 30' for a distance of 13,000
feet; thence on a bearing of 106°
30' for a distance of 2,500 feet;
thence on a bearing of 16° 30' for
a distance of 19,500 feet; thence
on a bearing of 360° 0' for a
distance of 10,000 feet; thence on
a bearing of 90° 0' for a distance
of 24,000 feet; thence on a
bearing of 180° 0' for a distance
of 12,000 feet; thence on a
bearing of 207° 30' for a distance
of 18,500 feet; thence on a
bearing of 197° 30' for a distance
of 21,000 feet; thence on a
bearing of 160° 30' for a distance
of 24,000 feet; thence on a
bearing of 89° 30' for a distance
of 10,000 feet; thence on a
bearing of 55° 0' for a distance
of 8,000 feet; thence on a bearing
of 148° 0' for a distance of
